REVIEW - Demise Of A Self-Centered Playboy - Piper Rayne



You might be wondering how you’ll know when your playboy ways are coming to an end. For some it might be an unexpected pregnancy (ahem… you know who), for others it might be finally landing the one woman you’ve always wanted (cough… I won’t mention any names). For me, it was the death of my mentor and the subsequent reading of their will.

The signs were there, they always are. But I didn’t notice them until it was too late, and my demise was complete.

Demise Sign #1– You find yourself thrust into the land of responsibility and you don’t immediately hightail it out of town.

Demise Sign #2– Despite being stuck with the world’s biggest Jekyll & Hyde, some sadistic part of you actually enjoys spending time with her.

Demise Sign #4– Somehow you end up being the voice of reason in your tumultuous partnership.

Demise Sign #5 –You start thinking of other people before yourself.

Demise Sign #6– You agree to put yourself in the middle of an Alaskan reality TV show that has both of you sleeping in the same tent.

 Well. This book was a LOT different from what I expected of Denver's book. I did not expect the surge of emotions I felt, I did not expect to love Denver more than Rome, but I do. I swooned soooo much for Denver. This book made me laugh, cry, and made me want to hold this precious story close to my heart. This book is just fantastic! One of my favourite's by this author by far.

Denver is your typical playboy, but the thing is, he has so many layers to him and hides his true feelings so well. My heart ached for him, my heart broke for him, my heart warmed for him. Denver is just an amazing hero and perfect for our girl, Cleo.
Cleo is such a sweet woman. She too has so many layers and hides behind a mask. My heart hurt so much for Cleo during this story. I am so so SO happy that these two found each other. They are seriously perfect together.

As you can see from my review, parts of this book made my heart ache, but that is the beauty of Piper Rayne's books, they have the ability to make me feel so much. They may hurt my heart at some stage but they also put it back together. Don't get me wrong, this book isn't all doom and gloom, it's funny, uplifting, and beautiful. I love that the Bailey family is so close to one another, I love the dynamics within this family, and I think this author is bringing it all together so nicely. I can not wait for more!!! I am so ready for Phoenix, and the rest of the siblings to finally find their other half too.

THIS BOOK!!!! I knew this book was going to end on a cliffhanger, but gosh I wanted to cry when it came to that last line!!! I even yelled NO out loud! This book is utterly amazing. Every word weaved it's way into my soul and held me absolutely captivated. I did not put this book down at all, I devoured it so fast that even I was surprised how quick I read it. I had no clue what time or day it was because I was completely in awe of Meghan March's words. Every time I pick up a book from this author, it automatically becomes my favorite, they just seem to get better and better every single time.

Now this book is one of my favorite types. Legend isn't rich, he isn't a playboy, he is trying so hard, and he is broken.. This instantly makes me love him! Legend is everything. I wanted to reach right into this book and give him everything he desired. He just instantly won my heart. He is such a beautiful person! The way he cares, his loyalty.... GAHHHHH!!!!

Scarlett is my favorite heroine from this author's books. I absolutely love her. I also felt so deeply for her. I wanted to knock some sense into a couple of the people around her. She might be rich, she might be popular but she isn't one to flaunt it. She is down to earth and just a beautiful person inside and out.

I could talk about this book all day, but what I think you need to do is run out and grab yourself a copy because you NEED this book! I need the next one like I need air, I can't wait until next month to get my hands on it. The Fall Of Legend is everything I could have hoped for and more.

Finally the second part of this duet is in my hands! As we know this author is huge for her angst, and this book is definitely full of it, actually the whole duet is angst central. Unfortunately for me there were a few things that didn't sit well with me in this book, and that is just because of personal choice. I did feel like the big twist was an unnecessary hurt for Jackson.... Maybe I am protecting him too much? Maybe it was needed? But what he did warmed my heart so much. I have SO much to say on this matter but the thing is, you need to read this duet for yourself to experience what I am talking about.

This is definitely the definition of enemies to lovers romance, with the constant fight between Harley and Jackson, there was never a dull moment between them. The book was funny, and also made me a little teary in a few spots, overall it was a good read. And although I may not have connected with this book as much as I have to this amazing author's other books, I can not wait to see what is going to happen in the next one because I think it is going to be EXPLOSIVE!!!! Plus I also want to know what Shy and Trig are up to! I can't wait.

This is my first book written by this author and it was just such a good read. I have been waiting with bated breath for the release of this book and could hardly contain my excitement when I picked it up to read. Although it wasn't overly long, it held everything I love. The hero was such a sweetheart, even if there was a miscommunication between the hero and the heroine. I loved Colton. He had me right from the start of this book.

Zara was a strong heroine, she was definitely someone that Colt needed in his life. Their chemistry was hot, I am talking sizzling through my kindle. I had a laugh along with the characters and I actually did tear up for a few bits in the book, I couldn't help it... Men crying is my kryptonite and it made me love them all the more!!! I am interested to know what is going on with the gym owners though. This is very much my favorite book in the Misadventures line up so far, and I can't wait to read more.
