Love HEA Rating - πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

This is the first book I have picked up by this author, and I really enjoyed reading it. I LOVE taboo romance, and I just knew as soon as I saw the blurb that I had to have it. This book was steamy, it was well written and it hooked me in pretty much from the get go.

You could feel the push and pull from the characters, their tension, their heat for one another. I could not put it down. There wasn't really a whole lot of drama either. I do think I saw heat coming from the top of my kindle from a couple of the scenes though! **fans myself**

This book was a quick read, I finished it in a couple of hours. I definitely enjoyed the storyline. I can't wait to read more from this series, I am intrigued!

Woah... What a heart-wrenching story! I seriously don't know how I am going to recover from this! This book is my first read from this author, and seriously, it will not be my last. This story was an emotional roller coaster I did not want to get off of. This book just took me on a ride. This book is just utterly amazing. I would not change a single thing, not a single word, nothing. It was just perfect the way it was.

The book did take me a little bit at the start to understand, seeing as this is my first book from this author, and the second in the series, I had to work out in my head who was who as it ran along the timeline of book one. It can definitely be read as a stand-alone but to better understand some happenings it's best to read book one first. But as soon as I clicked everything into place, oh my goodness, this book is PURE magic.

Gray... oh sweet Gray. At first I wanted to slap him good and proper, but dang did he win my heart! Really, he didn't have to try all that much. He is Just amazing! Story is his perfect counterpart. She is everything he needs, the ying to his yang, the other piece of his soul. I just love these two together. Their chemistry had butterflies exploding in my stomach, my heart racing. It was like fire.

I could seriously talk to you about this book alllllll day. I cried all the tears in the last 20% of this book. The emotions swirling, the hearts breaking, gosh this book... You have no idea. I wasn't ready for it and I am sure you are not either, but I HIGHLY recommend you read it. So much angst, so much torment, so much heart. My heart is not the same after this, and I would not have it any other way.

About the Author: I started writing the moment I could read. My first characters were Wibbley and Squig and I used MS Word and clipart to bring them to life when I was a kid in elementary school. I started seriously thinking about being a writer in High School and I remember the day exactly, because it was such an epiphany. I was always so uncertain. You know how everyone was always asking what you wanted to be when you were older? Well I NEVER could decide. I wanted to be a marine biologist. An actor. A FIRE FIGHTER (thank you Joaquin Phoenix in Ladder 49 for that phase). One day it hit me—A WRITER. I could do it ALL. Then you couldn’t stop me from writing. I penned my first novel at fifteen (but don’t ask me to show it to you, because it’s like I was in competition to beat the thesaurus). When I was diagnosed with a chronic illness, writing became even more important, because it became my therapy. When I wrote my characters, suddenly I wasn’t so alone. These days you can find me daydreaming about where to travel with my husband, singing in my car, or lost in the newest K drama. Gah... Callum!! This guy is so dang sweet, I need one of these Valentine guys for myself, (Don't tell hubby...HA). Lani Lynn Vale has swept me right off my feet with this amazing book! I was hooked right from the start and I could relate to Desi in some ways! She was such a sweet, lovable character with a side of sass, and was perfect for our sweet man Callum. These two together made my heart sing.

I laughed, I wanted to slap Mal... (as did many people I am guessing), and my heart sang while reading this book. Everything was just so good and I loved that we got to meet Candy! I am excited to see how the next book goes. I am ready for more Valentine guys!

It's finally time to read all about Liam and Maddie again! I have been hanging out for book 2 since the end of book 1, and I am so glad it is finally here! The book is full of twists I literally did not see coming. I was shocked at some of the events that had occurred, a good shock, it kept me intrigued through the whole book.

I really can not say too much because I seriously do not want to give any of the story away. There was however a little tiny part of me that couldn't 100% connect to the book, and truthfully, I don't think it had anything to do with the writing or premise of the book. I believe it was just me and my personal life getting in the way of that connection.

The way Liam cared and loved Maddie made my heart sigh, he is an incredibly loving man. Their connection is FIRE! I really enjoyed the end of this book, seeing into the future at their lives, I do hope we might see Liam and Maddie in Tyler's book coming up. I love this author duo's story telling and I am so excited to see more of Tyler and get inside his head. I am so ready for his duet.

REVIEW - My Bestie's ex - Piper Rayne




I can’t borrow him.




He’s not a sweater or a skirt.




He’s not even her favorite dress—the lucky one she wears on first dates. The one she probably wore on her first date with him.

In my defense, I didn’t know who he was. To me, he was a cool, calm, confident stranger. He was perfection for the entire hour and a half train ride while the concrete jungle turned into a rolling green landscape.

To an outsider, we probably appeared more friends than hopeful lovers. But my blush came quickly, and his dimples indented with every smile. We definitely shared a spark of what could be. 

Too bad I didn’t know who he was before I fell for him, because he can’t be mine.

 YES! Piper Rayne have done it again! Another story with characters I can not help but love. This book was addicting. Not only is it somewhat forbidden, but the writing is on point and had me absolutely hooked! Imagine falling for your best friend's ex! Queue heartache all around. This story was told so beautifully that my heart ached for Blanca and Ethan, but was put back together with the heart-warming ending. I love it so much!

Blanca and Ethan have the zing right from the get go, there is not denying it. Reading it was setting off butterflies in my stomach, I just really enjoyed watching the story unfold. I laughed at Blanca's brother's antics. I was so happy when their names popped up, I miss them so much!

This book is a great start to the new series and I am really looking forward to more from these group of friends. I am so ready for more from this fantastic author duo.

Sometimes people come into a person’s life and make their heart skip a beat.

Well, one cop in particular.

YES!!! I have been having Lani Lynn Vale withdrawals, so when I saw this book hit my kindle I pounced, Pushing any other book out of the way to get to it. And it was everything I could have hoped for and more. I did not expect this book, not at all. I didn't expect to cry, or feel the heart ache like I did while reading this and it was seriously everything. I absolutely loved it.

Derek and Avery had that pull towards each other. Their chemistry was palpable! My heart ached for Avery so much. For a young girl she has been through so much! I just wanted to reach in and hug her. But my heart was mended by the end of the book.

I could not put this book down at all, I didn't even try. I just kept reading and reading. This series is fast becoming my favorite series from this author, and I am SO excited for the next books! Bring them on!
