REVIEW Marley Valentine's RECLAIM

  Reclaim by Marley Valentine

  ★★★★✶ - 4.5 Stars

When I first read the blurb and a little snippet of this story, I knew I had to read it. I was hooked and couldn’t wait to devour it. Finally the day came and I was able to read it! I really enjoyed this story, and just like I predicted, I was hooked from the first page.

Jagger and Emerson have an undeniable connection to one another. I thought they were such great characters. While Jagger has the weight of his decisions on his shoulders, Emerson is passionate and does not judge Jagger, which is just what he needs. I did feel like I was waiting for something from the past to pop up and ruin things, which is the only reason why I didn’t give it 5 Stars. Other than that, this story was really enjoyable.

The secondary characters were great as well. Dakota is such a sweet, forgiving young lady. Taylah is so much fun, and Hendrix, well I can’t wait to read his upcoming story to see him find his own happy ever after. I liked how it captured the feelings that one would feel after being locked up for such a long time, the feeling of not being worth it, the feeling that you do not deserve anything because of past mistakes. It really gave me the feels and I really felt for Jagger. This emotional, and sweet story is actually my first read of Marley’s work, but after reading this I look forward to reading her released stories, as well as looking forward to future releases.

Blurb

Unlike most eighteen year olds, I had the weight of the world on my young shoulders. Desperate to do right by my family, my questionable choices led me to the pits of hell.
Steel bars, three meals a day and no contact with the outside world; regret consumed my every thought. Desperate to pay my penance, forgiveness and a happily ever after wasn’t the plan.
But there she was.
Warm, passionate and unexpected, Emerson Lane was the light at the end of the tunnel. She was all a man like me could want and everything I didn’t deserve.
Redemption wasn’t something I thought I would ever find. Until she found me.
