HEALING SCARS

HEALING SERIES BOOK 1

BY AUDREY RAVINE

After her marriage unravels, Tyler Thomas returns home to Georgia with her young daughter. Defeated and disillusioned from years with a heavy drinking and unstable husband, she begins to pick up the pieces of her life and tries to heal from the abuse. Home feels safe to her. Especially after her ex, embittered by his shattered dreams of being a professional football player, spewed threats for years and placed the blame of not making the NFL draft squarely on the shoulders of his high school sweetheart, Tyler, and her pregnancy during their college years.

Zac Jacobson, the local veterinarian has carried a torch for Tyler since moving to her high school as a junior. Now the beauty he remembers has moved back with her young daughter. He’s fighting demons of his own, suffering from PTSD after an injury forced him to medically retire from the Army. Tyler gives him an unexpected glimpse of hope to heal his inner demons.

Just when it seems the two may heal and blossom together, Tyler’s vindictive ex-husband allows his shattered dreams to twist his logic, he unfolds a plot to take Tyler away from her new beginnings. Zac sets out to save her, pulling his resources to find Tyler, who have become his salvation.

A story of broken dreams, and the healing power of love, Healing Scars will draw you into the complex lives and the imperfect souls trying to hold on to the best parts of themselves as they struggle with what life has dealt them.

Rating - 💜💜💜💜 . 5
This is my first book by this author and I really really liked it. This is a slow burn, military romance. I found the story to be sweet, captivating and a little suspenseful. It’s about finding that one person who fits you, fits your life. That person who has the ability to heal your wounds and your scars. Two broken souls finding each other again, and that is just beautiful.

Zac has always had something for Tyler, every since he met her at 16. It wasn’t their time back then, they had a lot of things to go through before they could be together. Zac is ex military and has PTSD, the reason he had to leave is sad, but I know that these things truely happen in the life of the military. Zac is the sweetest guy when he is around Wyatt and Tyler.

Tyler is broken, she is scarred. Her past is something I know a lot of women live through, and I wish that no one ever had to again. Tyler is strong, she found the strength to walk away from that life and take her daughter with her.

I felt the connection between Zac and Ty right from the prologue. They were definitely connected in a way Kent and Ty never were. I loved them together. So much love, so much sweetness, so sizzling together. I would have liked to have known what happened to Kent. He got lost at the end. As well as Zac’s back pain. Other than that, I thought this story was great. I can’t wait to see more from this book world!
